Intellisync - new in 7.5
Posted: 26 Oct 09 9:51 AM
Hi All,
We are in the process of upgrading from 7.0.1 to 7.5
Apparently the Intellisync has changed quite a bit
We used to be able to do this in our code to "kick off" a sync between the user's Outlook and SLX calendar
SLXApp.BasicFunctions.DoInvoke("Function","IntelliSync:SyncCalendarNow")
Is there anything equivalent in 7.5, now that everything seems web based?
We have the sync server all setup and are able to schedule syncs and kick off manual syncs,
but after users perform a specific task, we create a calendar entry and wanted to programmatically cause a sync...
thanks for any help!

Solved with workaround! Ok, here is the best workaround I have created to date. I am essentially tickling Outlook to force a silent sync. Create a class to control outlook. I created two static methods in this class (AddOutlookAppointment, DeleteOutlookAppointment). After creating your custom SLX activity, create your outlook appointment far into the future. Then simply delete this appointment. This simple action is just enough to kick off the sync and push the custom activity to the Outlook Calendar. Be sure that in the Intellisync settings have the checkbox checked for "Sync automatically when a change in MS Outlook is detected."
