Im getting an error message which says: Out of Memory: 'clBtnFace' at line 55, char 1

this is then followed by the error message: Catastrophic Failure

it points to the line: edtStatus.Color = clBtnFace.

never seen this error before. any ideas? it doesnt appear on client load, only when i open the relevant form.

I suspect nothing to do with this control but something else - check the WhenChange and WhenOpen of the frm and identify what it's doing. Post back what you find.
