Mail merge for Lookup Results
Posted: 17 Feb 10 7:58 AM
Hi all.
Is there a way to do a mail merge based on lookup results. For example, let's say I do a look up by CITY, is there a way to then do a mail merge based on those results?
I've tried but it doesn't pick up my lookup results as a group, do I have to create a group to do this?
We are using SLX LAN v7.2.1.
Thanks!

One way would be to select all of the lookup group members and right-click / add selected members to new group (or similar).
This will create an ad hoc group for you - and you can do your MM on that. But I think you will need a new group, one way or the other.

Best way indeed is to create a new Group, wether it is an AdHoc group or a Dynamic group, but Mail Merge is an ActiveX/COM component and it is invoked and given the group (or Contact) information, and it then retreives the group info from the Database (and it can't do that against the Lookup Results).
