I need a help with a quick easy script
Posted: 11 Mar 10 7:58 AM
Hello,
Can someone help me real quick to write a script. I need a script that writes the current date and time to a custom date field when the data changes in a custom field. The form is in the new 6.2.6 format. The form contains 4 custom fields and I have created 4 custom date fields for each field that will not show up on the form. I will have a report that shows the date of the last time the fields were updated.
I don't want to use the record to history function on these fields.
I am running the network version of SalesLogix 6.2.6 on an oracle 10g data base. Hope this makes sense.
Thanks,
Leif

On each field, add a When Change Event handler.
Also, make sure you test the State of the Form, if the Form is loading you don't want your script to run..
e.g.
If Not Form.IsReading then 'Form is the name of your Active Form
dteDateCtr.Date = Now()
End If
So, whenever a field is changed (but not when the form is loading), the date control is updated.
Off course, the assumption is that the date control is bound to the DB, so once the record saves it will preserve the value we just populated it with.
