I want to display some values in datagrid.i got every value except memo control value.so i tried to get 'LONGNOTES' values in a separate memo controls like Notes-History.But i dont get the value and also showing some errors too..Do you have any other solution?

If anyone knows ,pls help me...

Which version of SLX?

One trick is to use your own SQL and cast the memo field as say VARCHAR(2000) and display that in the grid....

There's a reason that SLX puts 255 characters in the notes field....so you can easily display it in a grid. Or export it to Excel, say, 2000. Nowadays Excel can handle larger fields sizes, as can SQL, Access, et al.....but back in the day.....

I think you are saying about NOTES field.But i want to display LONGNOTES . Longnote is a memo control.

Actually, no. RJ Samp is suggesting something along the lines of

select cast(longnotes as varchar(2000)) longnotes from HISTORY

2000 characters is considerably longer than the 255 that NOTES provides, which you'd know if you'd taken the time to digest the contents of his message.

Longnotes is not a "memo control" either. It is a database column with a TEXTBLOB datatype.
