Hi.

Im having problems with SLX because i want to create a new table but i dont want to use the db admin, because i dont want that the table uses an string as slx do when you use de database admin tool, i want to create it like another table that i have in other database.

If i try to create it using a query it creates the table, but slx does not found it.

How can i create a table without the admin and the slx could use it?

Thanks

You will need to add the appropriate records to the RESYNCTABLEDEFS AND SECTABLEDEFS accordingly.

Model how existing tables / fields are stored.

Could you provide more detail on what is the problem you have with using SLX DB Admin?

SLX Strings are defined in the DB as varchar, are you looking to define the fields as char? Any reason why?

Depending on the version of SLX, you may be able to create the Table externally, then open up the DB Admin and enable the Table (provided that the table was defined under the sysdba schema).

The remaining problem is Field Level Security. I have had bad luck in the past when Manually creating tables (even after having created the SECTABLEDEFS and RESYNCTABLEDEFS) to get Field level security to work correctly. So you may want to determine if you are using FLS or not before building the table outside of SLX DB Admin tool.

careful, this is tougher to do than you think.....SECPROFILES and Field Level Security.....FieldIndex and OffsetIndex in SecTabledefs.....JOINDATA?

Easiest way to do this is create the table normally....you can always go into SQL and change a field type\size, add a clustered constraint index, etc. This doesn't have to sync out to remotes anyway, right....?
