I am new in Saleslogix development and just for 7 monhts using it and no formal training. Most of the time i am just relying here on a forum like these.. and do some research on my customization and modification of our existing plugins.. Now I'm facing new challenge, just want to know how the Opportunity Stage works? Currently when i'm doing sample opportunity related for one account.. the default stage is unknown.. or no stage at all.. how the stage works? is it manually inputed by the user or is it automatically changing? Please If you can give me some pointers or some link, materials that i can read more.. these will be v ery helpful for me.. thank you and more power..

It will automatically changes when you create/assign a Sales Process to the opportunity. As the process moves through the stages/steps then the last stage (and, optionally, the sales probability) is set into opp.stage. Look for Sales Processes in client help.
