I'm having issues with merging accounts and associated opportunities being deleted.  Currently, whenever I try to merge two or more customer accounts in the SalesLogix LAN client, the associated opportunities for the merge account are lost.  I'm not sure if this is working as intended, a known issue, or something being caused by a complicated legacy function that we wrote and haven't found yet.  Trying to trace the issue with SQL Profiler didn't work out very well.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

I'm working on an existing SalesLogix 7.5.3 system with a lot of custom code to get the functionality we need.

As a tid bit of somewhat "Good" news, check your Database table.

Over the years I have seen many issues, and sometimes you will find out that:

- The AccountID on the Opportunities was erroneously set to the OpportuityID.

- The AccountID was set to Blank

Or

 - The AccountID was not modified (kept the old value).

So, check for Orphan Opportunities, you may be able to find a few records and Save some precious data.

Now, if you ask me what causes this issue, and/or how buggy it may or may not be, I don't know the answer to that question.
