Email to group -- error -- settings prohibit running ActiveX controlsYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi All,

When one of the user is selecting 'Send Email to Group' option from the Contact List view, the following error is getting displayed:

Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page. As a result, the page may not get displayed properly.

It is not clear as to why is the above error getting displayed?

Could someone please tell me the cause for this error and what needs to be done to rectify this error so that the user can proceed to send out mails to the group?

Thanks,
Ravi Kiran

Thanks Bob for your reply.
Sorry for the delayed response from my side.

Why is this occuring in SalesLogix? How are the web browser and saleslogix functionality of sending emails to group linked up together? Please correct me if I am wrong: Should not the outlook open up when the user is trying to send emails to the group.

If these are linked up together, could you please let me know how should this be rectified?

Thanks,
Ravi

So the ActiveX error is happening in the SalesLogix LAN client? If that is the case, check to make sure SalesLogix is setup correctly to use Outlook. First, make sure Outlook and SalesLogix are installed and functional. Then try running the InstallOutlookIntegration.bat from the SaleLogix directory. Then make sure SalesLogix's Tools > Options > Email setting are setup correctly for Outlook.

Hi Jeff,

We checked out the SalesLogix and outlook installation on the user's desktop. They are fine.
The user is accessing the SalesLogix via his citrix desktop.
The user was able to send mails earlier to the groups without any problem.
Are there any settings related to ActiveXcontrols on the citrix environment?

Thanks,
Ravi Kiran

Ravi,

I have seen this before. The issue has to do with the Outlook SIGNATURE that the client has made.

First, configure Outlook to not use a signature (Outlook - TOOLS, OPTIONS, MAIL FORMAT tab, Signatures (select {None})) then test the WRITE EMAIL TO GROUP function. It should work now. If that is the case delete the Outlook signature and recreate from scratch, this time not using ActiveX or *pictures*.
