SLX Mail Merge Problems
Posted: 04 Dec 09 9:56 AM

Hello All,
I am trying to use the Mail merge feature of SalesLogix with a test account. I have followed the PDF instructions on how to mail merge, and i have followed each step closely except for the person who i am mail merging to. At this point i am just mail merging to a single contact (myself) as a test. I am receiving the following error message: "Mail Merge encountered an error and cannot continue. Error requesting data from Clients. Unknown table passed to ExpandDataPaths: Outlook"
Please can anyone help with this |

I would suggest you test with a different template and/or review your Merge Fields.
I am not sure why it would be trying to resolve data for "Outlook". Are you adding a signature Field on the Template? Again, I would suggest you simplify the Template first, make sure you can get it to work with just the Contact's Name, then keep on adding to it. |

Hey Raul,
Thank you for your suggestion. But unfortunately this problem is arising with a basic template. I have not tried anything special with my mail merge. The document only contains the mail merge filed of the contact. I am testing this upon myself only as i do not require for a accident copy to be sent out to the actual clients just yet until i can present the template more professionally. Do you know if i have to test it on an outside contact for the mail merge to find the correct person within my "OUTLOOK" contacts. Eventhough i know it should'nt matter as the SalesLogix contacts are integrated with Outlook. |
