IE Browser control and SharePoint
Posted: 10 Apr 07 8:40 AM
I've created a link between the SharePoint and Saleslogix Account Tab.
The link appears to work fine but I get an error when they navigate the page
that appears to be tied to Borland
Exception EInvalidOp: Invalid floating point operation
Exception Location: [75C60859]{JScript.dll} DllGetClassObject
I assumed the SLX Browser was tied to under Borland code ie5.5 so changed the control to the MS Internet Control
This created a new error that fires during each refresh (Form OnChange event)
Script Method Error: OnFunctionVisible_ViewOpportunityStatistics
Invalid floating point operation
The goal is a Tab Pane pointing to Sharepoint for the Account or Contact that is navigatable.
Any ideas would be helpful.

If you are doing this with the current web product (which I assume you are) you should be talking with your BP about what the near futures are going to be in web.. After that discussion you will probably forget doing any more custom work in the present web.

Actually.....
It is in SLX 7 sp1.
The browser control is embedded on a tab under the account detail screen.
Sharepoint starts up fine through the call.
The wierd errors are happening when you switch to a different account.
The client loves being able to see the Sharepoint stuff in a tab (as opposed to having to launch something).
That help?

yep..
AFAIK Slx has a "wrapper" around the Windows control.
Does it work right using IE? If not I'd suggest making IE setting adjustments so that it does and then try again (in slx). Slx follows the IE settings.

The failure is not in the basic display of the page but in the button click functionality when they access the page. It appears to be advanced features of ie implimented to support sharepoint not existing or being supported in the existing controls.
I'm going to bind to the c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll and try that today. But I don't know if this dll is version dependent (I think it is) or if it'll upgrade with subsequent versions of ie. The second option is a .net assebly using a createobject() and hosting it in the tab.

If you embed the sharepoint window in the browser control on a .NET form does it work (if so then it must be something funky in the SLX wrapper???)
Just an idea.....what if you had the SLX browser control on the form, created some HTML with frames (or a big IFRAME) and loaded the sharepoint into the frame? That probably won't make a difference, but only thing I could think of...

I get the same problem from the MS Control to (ie ver 6sp2, what they are running). It appears based on the latest testing that the issue is in one specific form. It also appears the control is passing a message back that is getting into the saleslogix message handler and causing a gpf probably because the expected parameters are wrong. We got a write to address 0000000 error. I'll probably do a .net control to isolate slx from errors in the control at this time.
I'm guessing the designers (another consultant) is using the latest infopath and made edits to the screen, while they are screens from the older infopath. The new form does work from ie directly but they had problems when it was first releaseed.
thanks
