I just installed SLX 7.2 and After login in Web Client
I get this error
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but your request cannot be completed. getUserPref failed "
and I can't do anything there
anyone knows why?

When that occurs, check in the Application EventLog on the server. It is likely logging additional details there that might help determine the cause.

Try re-registering GroupTranslator.dll (with regsvr32) - this got me out of the getUserPref failed error a few times.

This legacy (COM-based) GroupTranslator sucks. It will be a fine day for SalesLogix when it is pitched and replaced with managed code.

I ran into this error and the event viewer warning confirmed it had to do with GroupTranslator.dll. I unregistered and reregistered the dll and the problem went away.
