How to Set the LookUpMode property for the owner control in web.

I want to display only the user list from the owner control.
In Lan in the owner control there is one property of "Lookup Mode" to customize or filter the owner control, for example if you give "IMUser" in the LookUpMode property in the owner control it will only display the user names in the owner control not the team and sytem option.
How can we achieve the same in the web ie how we have to filter only the user from the owner control.
Or through any other control we can achieve the same.
