Client wants web site accessible to users not connected with vpn. Web site deployed to Inetpub/wwwroot/SLXClient on port 80. Saleslogix website by default install points to program files\saleslogix\Web Components. This config works fine when site called from http://servername/SLXClient while vpn'd in.

Client added 2 entries in IIS under Website/advanced/Advanced Web Site Identification for SalesLogix web site
>Host header value = crm.comanyname.com and Host Header Value = crm

Client then pointed Home Directory to Inetpub/wwwroot/SLXClient . Users are then able to access the site from http://crm.companyname.com BUT mail merge breaks with "The following HTTP status error was reported in THTTPRequestThread.Execute: Internal Server Error.

If the Home Directory is set back to program files\saleslogix\Web Components users have to use vpn and access http://servername/SLXClient - but mail merge works..

How can I configure the site to allow users to use http://crm.comanyname.com without the vpn yet still allow mail merge to work?

Is there any documentation on doing this? Any tips? Advice? Anything to do with the index.asp file with the reponse.redirect in the web components folder? Thanks

Setup NAT rules on the rotuer/FW for the ports or use a static public to private IP translation if you have an extra and then setup your dns records accordingly. This has worked for us well.
