Basic Picklist and Field Req. Question

I'm a little new to SLX overall and how the web version works compared to the LAN version (since we just upgraded), so I'd like to make sure I'm doing this correctly for SLX 7.5.1 Web client thanks for the assistance.
1. When working in picklists do I just edit them in the SLX admin by adding the items requested save it and that's it? Or does something else have to be done for the web client through the AA?
2. We are creating a standard set of min. fields required, does using the SLX admin and checking the required field option and setting a default vaule in the picklist manager acomplish this to the web client or do I need to do something in the AA as well?
It seemed to work just using the admin, but I'd like to be sure this is the correct way rather then find out the aplication needs to be rebuilt or something...

#1 - yes, just edit in SLX Admin application or in SLX Architect (legacy Architect, not AA).
Note - you may need to perform an IISRESET ont the Web server if you want to see the picklist value edits immediately as they are cached on the Web server.
#2 - no, the Picklist control in the WebClient has exposed properties that coorespond to the various configuration elements you set in the picklist manager utility. Unfortunately, those picklistcontrol.properties are *not* automatically set, you must set them manually either at design time or at run-time.
The web picklist control has a .Required property you can set to True. |
