Help in Customer Portal 7.5.0

Question on the top navigation dropdown for the help in the customer portal. It's currently opening the help in the main browser window (and there's no navigation back to the ticket and the back button doesn't work) and it should be opening it as a popup, similar to the help in the ticket details area. Any idea of how to make this happen?
It works correctly in the sales client, but not the customer portal. I was trying to find where the menu is set in the sales client to compare, but I can't seem to find it.
I figure I can write javascript (I can set the target of the menu option to be javascript, my alert worked), but that doesn't seem like the "right" way to do things in SLX.
