Fields required in a Group in SLXWeb v7.5 Sp2

Hi
I have a user who is receiving 'unable to parse SQL' error when they use WebClient, they normally use Network client but now want to start to use the Web Client. They have a large number of groups set up. They often change the default group they want to use, sometimes to none at all. Does anyone know why he might be getting the error ? Are there any fields that need to be in the groups as standard, such as accountid for accounts groups, that would prevent the error happening ? When i added 'name' to his contact group the error went away.
Kind Regards Ian |

There are a few kinks on the Web Client when it comes to groups that will indeed present this kind of issue. For instance, there are some characters that could cause problems if present on the Group's name or Description. Also, there are (or have been) some issues regarding the using Literal Conditions and where in the Order of the Conditions they were (e.g. it would break unless the Literal condition was the last one in the Group).
Adding a given field may not have been what fixed it, but the fact that you edited it and saved it on the Web Client which then got it saved with the new code, which then allowed it to work. NEver the less, different groups may run into different issues. |

There is a great tool to help troubleshoot those from Customer FX / Ryan Farley - "SalesLogix Group Explorer" (http://customerfx.com/pages/crmdeveloper/2008/09/13/saleslogix-group-explorer-added-to-labs.aspx) |
