Refresh Activity grid after creating an activity
Posted: 16 Apr 10 8:44 AM
I am having some issues with refreshing the activity grid once users create a new activity.
The only way to see the new one created at the moment is to hit F5 and do a full postback. I am using the CloseParentDialog() method thats OOTB and have also tried adding a IPanelRefreshService and doing a RefreshAll() but this isn't working unfortunately.

I've had similar trouble when using any of a number of built-in refreshing functions, many seemed to just have no effect.
The one I use which I find most reliable is the one which is simply 'Refresh()', which is accessible either to custom SmartParts which inherit Sage.Platform.WebPortal.SmartParts.SmartPart / EntityBoundSmartPart / EntityBoundSmartPartInfoProvider (which you're probably already using in a custom SmartPart), or by adding a 'C# Code Snippet' to a quickform (non-custom) SmartPart. Both should be visible through intelli-sense.
I couldn't find any way to call this function through a 'Code Snippet Action Item' (the generic one), despite casting the form as a SmartPart in the same sense as in the custom form does it.
Hope this was helpful.
