Hi All, im editing a smart part in Visual Studio. It has multiple controls but im focused on a date/time picker and a text box for now. I have a funciton called StatusChange that looks to see if a value is in the date/time picker and if it is it changes the text in the text box.

If i call this function on form load it sees the date/time picker has something in it and updates the text box accordingly but i want this to occur when the user actually opens the calender and selects a date.

So I tried calling my StatusChange function on the OnDateTimeValueChanged event of the date/time picker. The function gets called (i put a msgbox to check) but doesnt change the text value in the text box!

Both the date/time picker and the text box are linked to database fields. Why wont the text box update when i call the function on the picker event rather than form load?

Hi,

Bit late...

If the function is getting called and you are setting the textbox value with a code snippet onchange of the Datepicker, the only thing I can think this could be is maybe the binding is overwriting the value of the textbox? Try setting the entity property that the textbox is bound to with the value you want the textbox to display. You should always do it this way anyway...

Thanks for your reply Nick, ill give this a try as sson as i get back to this dev. while youre online and i have your attention hopefully you can look at my most recent post
