Caching of entities on the SLX web server

Is anyone aware of any way to cache entities. So, for example, I could see setting a flag at the entity level to cache it on the web server …. For example … keep all account entities in memory for 10 minutes. How about at the smart part level? I could also see specifying that a smart part is to be cached for a fixed amount of time, perhaps it could do this by user or by server?
Does anyone know anything about this area, both now and for future plans? |

Dave,
The WebClient uses the NHibernate ORM. This does provide caching of data to the webserver. In addition, sub collections off of an entity (for example Account Contacts) are "lazy loaded" meaning that they are not loaded up until they are actually requested. Updates to entities do get flushed to the DB immediately in order to maintain transactional integrity. You will notice this if you load up an entity in the webcleint, make a direct change to the DB, and then refresh the webpage. In most cases, you will not immediately see your change. However, sometimes you will if you happen to hit the refresh when the cache expires.
