DependencyLookupControl and getting the values selected by themYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi

I am using the DependencyLookupControl on a form and want to get the values that the user selects from them but am having trouble. I don't have them bound to anything as I am going to use the values that the user specifies in them to run a stored proc that will do some extensive data handling. I just want to get what the user selected!

I tried the following to access the first dropdown but I still can't locate where the selected value is.

dlcListOfValues.DependentLookups[0].

Old post...

Try this:

string area;
area = dplArea.FindControl("Area").ClientID;
area = area.Replace("_", "$") + "_Text";
area = Page.Request[area];
string category;
category = dplArea.FindControl("Category").ClientID;
category = category.Replace("_", "$") + "_Text";
category = Page.Request[category];
string issue;
issue = dplArea.FindControl("Issue").ClientID;
issue = issue.Replace("_", "$") + "_Text";
issue = Page.Request[issue];

You also where in the rigth path... just needed a little turn...
