I need to find out a way how to export RecordSet, IList or DataGrid into Excel.

Take a look in the CommonTasksTasklet code behind. This is how Sage have implemented exporting to excel.
I have used the code from here on other places in my project and it has worked well.

TaskPane/CommonTasks/CommonTasksTasklet.ascx.cs
