Hi all

We are currently having an issue where users are unable to do lookups (i.e. when viewing all accounts group) on a field that has been created by us.  However if I log on as Administrator the lookup works fine.  It sounds like a permission issue but as far as I am aware no settings have been changed, could someone point me in the right direction of where to look to solve this?

Thanks

Andrew

Hi,

Check within the SalesLogix Administrator | Field Level Security and see if the field you have created is set to 'Read-Only'

The field is saying read/write access.

Do you get the same issue in the LAN version?

The lookup we use in the web account search is not in the Lan so currently unable to test this.  However I have tried the web version on my Local machine (Development environment) and this works fine?

EDIT

We do have a lookup in LAN that uses the same field and this works fine???

Depending on the Version of SLX Web, the lookup may function slightly different.

Prior to 7.5.2, the lookup was based on the Default Group (per main view). This is a per user setting, and even if multiple users have the same group, then you have to figure group releases into the Mix as well.

Starting on 7.5.2, there is a new User Option for the Lookup Group (per Main View). Again, this is a user setting, and same as above, you also have to take into account Releases.

Since Admin is working fine for you, I would do 2 things:

- Check what groups Admin has set as default (take version into account as stated above).

- Make sure that all Releases for the group Admin is using have been updated (otherwise users could be using an older version of the Group)

- Test with a user, setup the options to match the Admin's group (if you make changes to the Default Groups options, you will have to log off and log back in as they don't take effect right away).

Additionally, and probably should've mentioned this first, make sure to Clear Filters before doing any testing. Filters are a bit tricky as sometimes there is no visual indication that a value is selected, but as soon as you clear them the queries start working....

It looks like this may not be a lookup issue. I have just logged in as a user again after checking the options etc mentioed above and have noticed that the column in question has no data and that's why the lookup does not work but data is visible when logged in as admin. (Looking at the all accounts group)

We are currently on 7.5.2

It appears to be our Z_Account_Ext table that can no longer be viewed in a group, all our other extension tables seem fine.  Any one have any ideas
