Hi,

I am trying to add an Entity page to my SalesLogix web client and getting this error

"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method"

Background : I have created a new Entity Page using Application Architect and added a custom smart part. Now I need to load this new Entity Page from a SlxGridView table when I press 'Edit' which of type asp:ButtonField. and the code I have written is,

 protected void dg_SlxGridView_RowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e)<br />    {
        if(e.CommandName.Equals("Edit"))
        {
            Response.Redirect("~/NewEntityPage.aspx");
        }
    }

Please help me in undertsanding this error and resolving

Many thanks

The first thing I notice is that the Error MEssage doesn' relate to the Code you are showing on your Post.

The code is server side, but you are receiving a Javascript error.

The question truly is where the error is coming from. Best bet is to use a Client Side debugger (e.g. IE Developers Tool) and find out what is failing.

From what I can tell, you are not invoking your Entity Page on Detail mode as your redirect when straight to the Page and didn't pass any ID

Do you have any Groups defined for your Entity Page?

It may be caused if you are using a New Entity Page (which you mentioned you created) but have yet to define any groups. If so, just Ignore the error, let the page load and then define a group for it.

Thanks a lot.

I tried this as well, but no luck. Where I assume the Group you mentioned in my case is Group Account

protected void dg_GridView_RowEditing(object sender, GridViewEditEventArgs e)
{
   Response.Redirect("~/NewEntityPage.aspx?entityId=" + AccountId);
}

Load your page directly with no parameters (e.g. /NewEntityPage.aspx).

Your page would load on List Mode. Do you have any groups defined? If not, create a new group (e.g. "All records...")

Load your page again, make sure your group opens.

Is your entity based on the Account Table? If not, why would you be passing the AccountID?

In other words, the ID would have to be that of a Record on the Table that backs your Custom Entity  (e.g. Table Name: CAR. ID Field: CARID.  Entity Name: Car. ID Field: CarId)
