I have SLX7.5.1 running on my webserver just fine. I then created a local webiste so I could test and debug via VS. Whenever I log into SLX on my local machine website I get the below error as soon as I try and navigate to anything on the left nav.

I couldn't find the CLSID in dcomcnfg?

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {39CCFCA0-D8FA-4519-8E57-A05784EA84F3} failed due to the following error: 80040154.

What SLX Components did you install on your local machine?

I do recall running into a similar issue and having to install App. Architect to get it installed.

My local machine has the required admin tools and components isntalled.

I deployed the website locally using my local AA. I have also made sure that I have sp1 isntalled locally too.

The error that you are getting relates to COM Registrations on your local server, which you already know.

I searched through my registry, and that CLSID came back to GroupTranslator.dll (which is typically located on the SLX Folder).
I would suggest that you do the following:
- Inspect your SLX Installation folder and make sure you do have the GroupTranslator.dll present. If so, register it.
- If the DLL is not present, run a repair on your SalesLogix applications, if it doesn't make it to the folder, you may want to consider installing the SLX Windows Client (copying from another machine should work as well, but I am thinking that there may be other components missing, thus the push for the Windows Client.

Regardless of how you get the Group Translator dll in place, registering it should allow you to get past this error.

I had the file locally so I just registered it.

This solved my problem as well after a fresh install of 7.5 sp2 on Windows 2008 IIS7. Although since Tony sits right next to me, I'm not sure why he did not tell me about this
