I have a user that is suddenly unable to view any contacts.  He had 850 contacts, but the system is now showing 0.  He is also unable to search for contacts.  He is able to view the Accounts page fine and can search for accounts.  He is also able to open the contact link from within the account.  His contacts are still in the system and other users are able to see them.  Any help would be appreciated.

1. Who owns the Contacts? Is this user on that Team?

2. What Inner Join are you violating? Do you have a Primary Address for each Contact for example?

Most likely a role that this use belongs to has changed.  Double check all security roles  and as RJ mentioned -  teams and ownership

Not likely but to cover all bases - Make sure he/she clears the filters on the all contact list view pages. (Far right hand panel)

I am assuming this is web? Version and hotfix would be helpful. Also what groups doe sthe user see in contacts? Is "All contacts" available?

if it is web, it could be a filter or cache problem.

The fact that the uer can get to the contacts from the account means it should not be an ownership problem. The user can see the contact list  and get to the contact detail page means it should not be a role problem.

I would first check and see if the users login has the same result on another PC, this will exclude a local browser cache problem. If he same problem occurs on another PC you may want to clear their "user options" there are instructions for this on the support site or your partner can assist.

Best, Brian

I just wanted to share with everyone that I fixed the problem.  All I did was change the username.  It somehow did the trick.  Why I don't know.  I am still going to try to figure that out!!
