Hi all.


I'm trying to install SLX v8 Web Host on IIS using Windows 2008 R2.  During the installation I get an error and the installation aborts.  The error is


"Error 2753:  The File 'sage.messaging.eventserver.e1' is not marked for installation"


This server is a new deployment and is not running anything other than SLX Web v8.  I suspect I missed a prerequsite, but I can't figure out what.


Any thoughts are welcome.  Thanks!

Side note:  The Saleslogix System Service appears to be crashing during the installation.  I'm not sure how to troubleshoot that one.

Found it:  When I was doing the installation I was selecting "custom" and choosing "Web Host" and "Sage Saleslogix Cache Server".  I was NOT selecting "Sage Messaging Service". 


If I select the "COMPLETE" option, the installation completed (and it only installed the two options that I wanted).  Apparently the installation program doesn't like the custom option if you are only installing the host and the cache server.

Clarification:  The COMPLETE option DOES install all three components (Web Host, Cache Server, Messaging Server).

  1. On the SalesLogix installation screen, select Standard Server Installation

  2. Select Web Host on IIS.

  3. Select the Custom option.

  4. In the Custom Setup screen only select Web Host and Sage SalesLogix Cache Server.

  5. Continue through the install. The following error is returned: “Error 2753. The File 'sage.messaging.eventserver.e1' is not marked for installation”

Apparently this problem is going to be a documented defect.
