When using the SLX v8 Web Client, my users are prompted with a login page.  These users are all set in the SLX Administrator to "Use Windows Authentication".  If they try to log into the web client with their active driectory credentials, the login fails.  If they log in using Saleslogix credentials, it works.

Can I enable the web client to let users log in using AD credentials WITHOUT automatically logging them in?  I want users to see the login page, but it seems like I have to go through all the steps to "Configure Windows Authentication for Web Client users", which (I believe) will log them in without displaying the web client login page.

Am I understanding this situation correctly?  Anything I can do?

Thanks for any help!

Jim:

There are some additional Steps for the Web Client to work with Windows Authentication. The details are outlined in the Implementation Guide and in the Administrator's Help.

Once you have followed those steps, you would have the users point to http://SERVER:PORT/SlxClient/Windows.aspx and that would handle the Windows Authentication.

Off course, there are severl considerations in place (e.g. Adding Site to Trusted Sites list, or changing permissions for the Zone on which it is being run under), but before getting that far make sure you follow the Implementation Guide.
