SalesLogix Error Id - is there a reference for these?Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I am working on porting some customizations from 7.5.4 to 8.0.  I am getting the following error page when I test:

We're sorry, your request could not be completed.

We're sorry, you've encountered an error. If applicable, please try again.

SalesLogix Error Id: SLX6D81CA01C7AD6B9E

URL: http://xxx/slxclient/Opportunity.aspx?entityid=O6UJ9A000S07

Where can I look up this SalesLogix Error Id?

Thanks for your help!

This exception is going to be logged in the Application Log.

You can match it to this error ocurrance by matching the Error ID.

In other words, open up Event Viewer on your Web Server. Next, select the Application Log. Scroll through the SalesLogix entries until you find the one that matches this error ID.

(Or, export the Application Log to File, then do a Search for the Error ID)

I'm fairly sure they are random numbers But, basically, ignore them - look in the event viewer and that tells you in great detail what/where/how the err occured.

Mike:

They indeed appear to be random numbers, but they do get writen into the Event Log entry, so it is possible to match an ocurrence against the Actual Event Log entry.

Thanks for the responses.  I enabled root level logging in the log4net.config file, and now I at least have full stack traces correlated to the SalesLogix Error Id.
