Changes to Welcome page not showing (7.5.4) Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

I am trying to change the text on the Welcome page in SLx Web 7.5.4, but the changes i am making are not displayed.
I have changed the text in 'IntroText.ascx.re', saved the changes, built web platform and deployed the site, but it still displays the OTB text.
Is the Welcome screen protected in some way or am i missing a step?
