Multiple picklist in insertcontact smartpartYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi,

I added a new picklist into the insertcontact smartpart. This new picklist is a multi selection picklist but when it's rendered in two lines instead of one. this is the code for the multiple picklist:

<SalesLogix:PickListControl runat="server" ID="pklDept" PickListID="k6UJ9A000484" PickListName="Department"  AutoPostBack="false"

MustExistInList="true" AlphaSort="true" AllowMultiples="true" NoneEditable="true" Required="true"/>

If I add style="width: 80%", there is no difference.

I'm working with version 8.1 and all the upgrades installed. Is there any way to fix it?

Thanks.

I believe I am having the same issue and I just resolved, kinda.

Issue seems to be that if the pick list is defined as multi-value on the LAN side, when you build and deploy, the control renders as a textbox, with the button to lookup the pick list value below the textbox - not pretty nor does it make any sense.

I removed the multi-value property from the LAN.  Then I built and deployed the website again, and the pick list field renders fine.

THEN you can make the pick list multi-value in the LAN again if needs be - but will most likely have to remove that setting when building.  What a p.i.t.a.!

Still digging into details and will most likely report to support...but time to quite for this evening.  Just wanted to get answer out there...

Hope it helps and let me know!

I have found that while unchecking multi value option on LAN side fixed the issue, this doesn't happen with all pick lists marked mult value on the LAN side - a conundrum wrapped in an enigma!

I'll keep posting findings.

Final answer:  I had to delete and recreate that one pick list.  By all accounts, with the exception of how it behaves with multi select checked in the web, it was not displaying any issues, but deleting and recreating resolved this issue.  Hope it helps others.

I have several picklists with the same issue. I tested with one: I unchecked the "allow multiple selections" in the architect. Released to everyone, Built and deployed the web portal, but it still have the issue. Dawn, did you delete the picklist in architect and created again?

Yes, I deleted the offending pick list in LAN's architect.  (First I saved the list data by exporting).
