Agent failing after version upgradation
Posted: 10 Sep 07 5:01 AM

Hi All,
We had a version upgradation from 5.2 to 6.0. Intially there was an automated import that was taking place, but its not occuring now. Synchronization service is running. But the agent is still failing. It was working fine before the upgrade. What could be the reason? Are there any documents which explain the sequence of tasks to be done for the synchronization process after the upgrade?
Thanks, Richa |

Hi David,
Thanks for the post. But could not make the best use out of it till now. An agent has been defined in the Saleslogix administrator for the import of records into the Saleslogix database.A Sync automatic service has also been defined in the Saleslogix administrator to run the synchronization process automatically at a predefined time. The Synhronization server is running and the Synchronization service is also running. But the automatically defined sync service does not get started and so subsequently the agent also does not run.
I have been told that the agent was working fine earlier in the same system before the upgrade happened from version 5.2 to 6.2. If I run the Custom Sync or the Sync now process manually, the synchronization process runs and the import from the text file also happens. Can you let me know as to what could be the reason for the sync process not starting automatically?
Thanks, Richa

Richa,
It sounds like your SYNC job is not enabled. Login to the WGAdmin and click on the SYSTEMS button - SYNC AUTOMATION SERVICES tab. Make sure to check the ENABLED box and click APPLY JOB on the sync server job in the WGAdmin. Also, verify all the other parameters are set properly.
If this doesn't work make sure that the user account running the sync server services is working properly. Login to the box as that user and make sure the credentials are working. Also check the EVENT VIEWER logs for anything out of the ordinary.
