GUI "Cleanup" - NavBar - Toolbar - MenusYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

SLX Sales Client v7.0.1.1075

I am looking into ways to "clean up" the GUI for the Sales Client. I am just trying to figure out a way to make the client less intimidating / overwhelming for users.

1. Can I add / remove items from the NavBar on the far left of the Sales Client?
2. Can I add / remove unused items from the Toolbars and Menus?

Thanks in advance.

Branden,
Yes you can adjust the menus available for your users, I would start by taking a look at the Standard Menu Menu Strip in Architect. Be careful making any adjustments here because this is the menu that all users will see. So what you'll want to do is make the changes here that are for all users and then make custom menus for different groups that include the Standard Menu.

I hope that makes sense.

Ian,

Thanks for the reply. Yes...that makes perfect sense. That takes care of the Menus portion. Do you know whether or not I can add / remove "buttons" from the NavBar? Is that also a plugin that is accessible through the Architect?

That is correct. You'll modify the toolbar, navbar, & menus in the same way. As Ian mentioned, in Architect, you'd open up a the menu plugin named "Standard Menu" plugin to see what is there. You can make an additional plugin to hide certain items as needed. For the toolbars & navbars the process is the same except you'll be opening Toolbar plugins instead. Does that make sense?

Hi Ryan

Sorry to jump in - but now the Std Menus and Std NavBar are exposed and you cannot alter the original it's now easier to just delete the offending items rather than creating a new version to hide the items (the old way).

Cheers!

Hi there! I too am looking to customize the NavBar - in SalesLogix SalesClient v7.2.0.1. In particular, I'd like to get rid of the Marketing tab and copy or move the Accounts button from the Sales tab to the Support Tab. I followed the advice here and searched around in application architect - I do see the plugins for the Toolbar and for the Standard MenusMenus but I still can't seem to specifically find the plugin for the NavBar itself. I would greatly appreciate just a bit more information on exactly where to look in the app architect. Thanks!

it's not the Application Architect - just Architect. Open this up and seelct F9 - select the menus/toolbars from the list and you should be away !
