Terminal Server and v6.2.6

Hi all.
Recently we wanted to use SalesLogix over our terminal server but we experienced some issues because the SalesLogix Client program does not load, all you see is the SalesLogix splash screen, it does not prompt you to log on.
I've contacted Sage Support but the articles they forward to me are for the SLXSystem.exe to run as a service, I've done everything but it still does not work.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance. |

Is slxsystem.exe actually appearing as a service (e.g. SalesLogix System). Is is set to startup automatically as system account (not a user). When you run the /Install you must ensure that no-one is using SLX and that slxsystem.exe, if running, is killed as a task before you run the /Install.
Also, do you have any messaging components on the TS (e.g. Outlook, Mail etc). ? |

Thanks for the reply Mike.
1. The only services running are: SalesLogix Server, SalesLogix SpeedSearch and SalesLogix Synchronization.
Note, these are the same services running on all our workstations, which work fine with SalesLogix, but when you log onto terminal services from your house it locks up.
2. Yes it is set to startup automatically as a system account (local system)
3. When I installed it on the terminal server, there were users logged onto SalesLogix (Note: SalesLogix resides on another box separate from terminal server)
4. We do have Outlook on the TS but it is not hosted there, it's just the application. |

Hi, this proves that you have *not* run the /install sufficiently to get the service installed (and why it hangs).
1) Stop all users on the TS 2) Kill slxsystem.exe using taskmgr 3) Start | Run | "c:\program files\saleslogix\slxsystem.exe" /Install 4) You will now find you have a new service called "SalesLogix System" i.e. 4 SLX Services not 3 5) This process (1-4) is *only* required on Terminal Server machines, not any others.
Thanks Mike
