How to unhide a hided Group ACO?Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

A user can't see a group anymore, which was created by himself? I tried to unhide that group so he could see it again. Yet I couln't figure out, how to unhide his owned group.

So I made a new group "AAA Test a" and hided it. I was loged in with Admininstrator. Then I coudln't see it anymore. After I wanted to unhide it with Group-Manager, but there was no flag to activate it. I also tried to release it for "Everyone" in Architect, but still it does not appear to see it.

What do I doing wrong?

Thanks for any recommendations in advance.

Daniel

You were right to go into the Group Manager - there isn't really a flag to activate a group, but there is a checkbox under the list of groups labeled "Hide Tab." All you should have to do is highlight the group/tab you want to have visible again, and uncheck the "Hide Tab" checkbox - is the checkbox not enabled?

Also, I'm not sure if you can unhide a tab for another user while logged in as the administrator. You may need to have that user log in and then find the tab and uncheck the box.

Thanks Jeff

It is oddly. I expected that checkbox by highlighting the tab, but it does not appear, where I could remove/uncheck the flag. Even if I log in with the users log in values, that checkbox does not appear. Is there a specific dependency or so?

Wow, I have no idea - maybe there is a data corruption in the Plugin table? I know if there is a data corruption on SyncTableDefs, or one of the other metadata tables, you can't customize fields for the affected tables in the Database Manager.

Another thing (which I would be really surprised about) is if you have a version of SalesLogix other than Premier which doesn't let you unhide tables - that's really unlikely, but I'm reaching here.

My guess is data corruption, but I'm not sure how you would fix it. You may want to call SalesLogix tech support for this.

Sorry!

Perhaps try creating a new account for the user?

@Jeff

Thanks, I may have to ask them. But I hope I get an answer elsewhere.

@David
The new user account will then not be the owner of the hided tabs. Although I'll give it a try.

Just a thought...

Share the groups from the old user account to the new user account. Then "copy group" as the new user to take ownership.
