Anyone tested or integrated any 3rd party products that will index the contents of a PDF stored in SalesLogix?

I need to store all legal contracts as attachments and make the contents searchable.

I believe SpeedSearch already indexes PDFs.

Hi Mike, does it index the actual content of the PDF?

I think so. Should be pretty easy to test. Attach a text based PDF (scanned docs won't work), then configure SpeedSearch to index attachments. When done, do a search for a term in that PDF.

It certainly works just fine with the Advanced Speedsearch license.

.. and oh yes.. it IS 3rd party.. Speedsearch uses the dtsearch engine/technology .. Sage OEM's it. Expect to see more use of it going forward.

There's even an "API" on the SalesLogix side so you can build out additional things.... but I think you need teh Advanced Speedsearch License too.
