Is there any way to exclude certain calendar entries from showing up in SalesLogix?

We tried marking the calendar entry 'private', but SalesLogix still displays it in the Activities screen.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you have to turn on the Intellisync filtering to 'Exclude Private Data'.

The below steps assume you are using the latest Intellisync for SalesLogix and Outlook.

1) Start Intellisync for SalesLogix from the Sage CRM SalesLogix program group.
2) Click the Configure button
3) The Intellisync for SalesLogix Configuration dialog will appear
4) Highlight the SalesLogix Application to modify (you will have to do this for all of the ones you are importing/syncing from)
5) Click the Configure button and select Advanced Settings from the menu that appears
6) Click the Filters tab in the Advanced Settings for SLX app name dialog
7) In the 'MS Outlook Calendar Filters' section make sure Exclude Private Data is selected.
8) Click the OK button. Repeat starting at step 4 for each SalesLogix Application you want to set the filter for.

That should work.
