Hi

When I do a search plug-in in architect, after completing the search the Architect automatically closes and I need to restart again.

Is this a bug in the Architect? Or am I doing some thing wrong.

Also please let me know if I can run some sort of SQL in the db to get a similar type of result.

The architect has had many versions from 6.0 to current that would crash and close without warning. It's been getting better with each version so as you upgrade it should happen less and less ;p

As far as running SQL, you can use the execute sql function in the administrator, or use query analyer (SQL management studio). For running queries via the SLX provider, there are some good OLEDB Query tools out there that I use for that kind of thing as well (but I mostly just use SQL management studio. This way common procs and functions I need I just install in the database to make my searching easier)

There is also the JH3 SalesLogix Electrician that you can download. There is a free version with limited capabilities that allow you to search for data in plugin blobs.
