When I view certain groups and know there are contacts under that group I can't see them. Within the navigation bar it reads " -1 of 10 "

What is the -1 and how can I resolve the issue so that I can view my contacts within the group?

You have a field in the layout that is not returning correct data. goto your group layout and remove the fields add them back one at a time and when you see the -1 you found the field that is causing problems.

When I view group layout I cannot see any data or scroll through using the navigation buttons. The only other option I can think of is delete the group and recreate it hoping the -1 error doesn't show again. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Thank you for your help.

Try to copy the group before deleting it to see if it shows the layout. If that doesn't work I'd probably just go with recreating the group and adding to the layout one column at a time. Would probably take alot less time than troubleshooting the issue.

I found the cause to the problem...

Under the Layout it defaults the address data in one column "Mailing City/State/Zip" I broke up the address to have one field in one column "City" "State" "Zip" and the -1 dissapeared, and now I am able to view all the data that fits the condition of the group.

I hope this is helpful for any other users that may experience the same issue.

Thanks to all that helped!

Thats weird. Has your definition for the Mainling City/State/Zip been modified? Basically, its a formula that combines those fields into one. I don't know what would make the formula return a numeric (-1) which sounds like would be the issue.

I am very new to SLX and have been working in it for nearly 3 weeks now. So I wouldn't know where to modify the definition. I find it wierd too because the first 2 weeks I never saw the -1.

Is this a SLX system that has been in place before you started working with it?

Yes, it was put in place sometime in 2004 if I'm not mistaken. It wasn't used very much by the firm, but is being revived and I'm the DBA hired to do it. We are current with Version 6, SP4.
