FYI - Yesterday (2/14), we started experiencing problems launching both SalesLogix (v6.2.4) and MS Outlook on random client machines. As it turns out, Windows Update had just downloaded and installed KB931836 on the affected machines! We applied the SalesLogix DST workaround to the affected machines and the problem has been (temporarily) corrected. We are in the process of testing SP6 in a test environment.

This "action" by MS caught a lot of people off guard. Yet another example of their Ready, Fire, Aim way of operating.

There are two (2) Official items that have come out of Sage SalesLogix on DST:
A - the "patch" - This is just to enable SalesLogix to work IF one has installed teh MS update(s) to TZ. It basically REMOVES the TZ change (in the registry) by MS. SO if you leave this in your systems, on March 11 at 02:00 your PC's will NOT switch to DST and you WILL be an hour off (for 3 weeks). In addition, in teh fall, your PC's will switch back to STD time one week EARLY.

B - SP6 for v6.2 and SP1 for 7.0 - This IS the Actual "fix" for the DST problem caused by the MS updates to TZ. For 6.2.3 and up installations, you can install just the Schema changes (make sure you do ALL of them) from the bundle and then the executables. For v7.0 you HAVE to install the entire SP1 bundle.

NOTES:
Do not forget the HF's for the SP's (both SP6 and SP1) as well.
If you have installed "A" above, you must do the UNDO part (it's all in teh documentation provided w/the patch.

Everything above is available from the SalesLogix Support site. If you have a problem getting any of it, contact me.

RJL - Is that the BP support site or the customer support site?

It's all in both locations:
support.saleslogix.com
and the partner accessable "ftp" site.

RJ,

Your information is incorrect. After several talks with Mimi Dolan from Sage in the US your time will correctly change on March 11th as long as you have applied the workaround. Also they have just posted a new TZ reg fix on the support site(new as of today). Hope this helps ML

I stand corrected.... on the March 11 date DST.

Initailly there were problems, but the current "patch"... not a true work-around since an update from Microsquish can/will mess it up again... will get you by....for now...

The only true "fix" is the service pack(s). If MS sends the TZ change in another update under another KB you will be broken again... and again.. and again..
