Has anyone had experience with either of the subject add-ons for SalesLogix?

We are looking into the possibility of replacing our current project management software and since these are add-ons to SalesLogix it would be a great asset having one place to go for everything.

Thanks,
John G.

Hehe. I've definitely heard of them. I can't say I've used either personally.

We have a client who has Eventix, and they seem to like it. I quickly looked at the code which seems well written. But its legacy code. Is there a more modern version?

Eventix was re-written sometime ago to utilise Active forms and scripts - sounds like you have an older release - contact art.karp@resolutionpartners.com for a newer release.

Legacy... If you want a legacy app.. that has tons of passwords on insta/edit, etc.. and a messy set of bundles.. buy the "other" one.

I'm guessing the 'other' one is in reference to TimeLinx (I've not seen anyone really comment on that)... ??? I agree that legacy code is something to consider going forward. In terms of Eventix, there was a post stating it was updated. And when I say updated I mean in a way that is fully compatible with 7.0.x.

Thanks,
John G.

The comments and information about TimeLinx is over a year old. Though RJ's comments were correct then, the information about multiple bundles, legacy code, passwords, etc., is very out of date and numerous revisions ago.

TimeLinx has been almost fully rewritten and re-designed during the past year - in fact, the new v5 is ONE bundle (plus an optional bundle for technical reasons). There is less than 20% legacy code and even that will be all gone by the summer. TimeLinx has a web and network timesheet client, MS Project synchronization, an accounting integration platform (QuickBooks shipping now), full SLX Ticket integration, a powerful reporting platform, Resource Management, KnowledgeSync AlertPak, Project Main View, fully compatible with v7.x since 9/06, and more is coming.

For more information, see http://timelinxsoftware.com/Pages/v5/TimeLinx.v5.asp

In the interest of full disclosure, my comments are biased, but accurate, as I am the developer of TimeLinx. A disclaimer by any poster stating when a product was last reviewed is appropriate for any postings about commercially available products, so that readers have all the information they should have.

Both products have their proper place in the marketplace based on the particular user's functional requirements, not based on how many bundles there are. A prospective user would serve themselves well by reviewing both products and determining the best fit for their business.

Thought I would go ahead and throw in my 2 cents. I have been intimately involved with the TimeLinx system for the past 9 months. While RJ's comments may have been correct for the state of the system in the past it is very much out of date. Today the installation consists of two bundles and the legacy code footprint has shrunk dramatically.

The current version, 5.0, of the system is a significant enhancement over previous versions as you can see by the link included in the comment above. This new version includes the utilization of an enhanced data grid allowing for the export of grid data to either an Excel spreadsheet or XML formatted file in addition to totaling at the group levels providing improved ability to analyze the data. This new version also provides a platform to enable the addition of new features and functionality in a very efficient manner.
