fiogf49gjkf0d Install: Saleslogix 6.2 SP3 Windows 2003 R2
I've seen a few posts like what I'm having but no answer just yet.
I have recently installed the above onto 3 seperate VMWare systems with no problems, using the default databases etc..... But now we have just instaled it to a physical Dell blade PE 1955 with 6 CPUs and 4GB of Ram, the DB is on a cluster node (with SQL instance) and when we run the administrator app it closes after typing in the password with no errors what so ever. Both the Node and blade are built for scratch and we have tried with and without Windows hotfixes

fiogf49gjkf0d you might try the DST workaround fix although you should shutdown before the login screen, but it's a thought |

fiogf49gjkf0d We have built a duplicate box with the same OS Windows 2003 R2 and it worked with Sp6, but our 1st box didn't and still doesn't!!
Now the only difference is the DB's and the 1st one had IE7 on which we did remove. Today we will be pointing the working box to the DB which the 1st one was pointing to...
Oh, and if any one is wondering why we don't just use the working box, its due to physical location |

fiogf49gjkf0d Did you install the DST workaround like Michael said?
If you ever ran MS updates for Timezone changes.. unless you have: A - Patched using the SalesLogix "temp workaround" or B - Upgraded to SP6
You WILL have problems! This applies to ALL boxes.. clients/servers. -- rjl |

fiogf49gjkf0d Yes we did install the DST work around, that was one of the first thinngs we did but that didn't work. the only thing that did is upgrading to SP6, this was on a 2003 R2 box...
.. But if we ran the fix on a 2003 SP1 box the fix did work, has anyone else had this?

Just because I think this is an interesting problem, please allow me to add my 2 cents. First, how is your SlxService user defined. Make this a local user on the server with Admin. rights to all directories, AND also add this user to the Active Directory and SLXAdmin Group (if defined). Second, use Task Manager to determine how the various SalesLogix processes are defined. SLXLoggingServer, SLXServer, and SLXSystem should all be listed and have a 'User Name' of "SYSTEM". On a VM, it should be a "Local", and a real server it should be network domain and should load automatically. Also, make sure the server has both Windows and Local User Account authentication defined. |
