Hi all,
I have the issue with slx 6.2 network client. The slx network client 6.2 was working fine all this while until the error come out with connection. The error message is "Cannot find SLX server". The workstation can connect the server via Sql client, ping and access the shared folder of the server. Could it caused by latest xp update. Please advise.

Thank You

How many of your clients are infected with this curse? If it is a single workstation I would tend to think something is wrong with the SLX provider. Have you tried rremoving and rebuilding the client's SLX DataLink connection?

It only infect some of the client with latest xp latest release. The client still can not connect to the server despite of having reinstallation for several time and apply slx 6.2 sp6 patches.

Thanks

I don't the KB number. However, automatic update for Windows XP is on and the release should be latest
.

If this was a general problem for all 6.2 SLX/XP users, I suspect that there would be a lot more traffic on this forum about it than there has been.

So either it's a combination of the XP updates and your unique SOE, or the XP update is a red herring and it's actually something else entirely.

If you would like to test your XP update idea further, why not try rolling back the updates and see whether or not SLX springs back into life? In Add/Remove Programs, click on the Show Updates checkbox on the top right-hand side to show the updates. They can be removed individually.

Its a long shot, but have these workstations had the Microsoft DST patch applied? Maybe that is preventing things from working properly?
