Access violation at address XXXXXXXX in Module 'ilxolk.FIL'...Your last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

This is a solution to the problem. Hope someone find it handy.

When user syncs his contacts from Outlook, he get's an error "Access violation at address XXXXXXXX in Module 'ilxolk.FIL'..."
SAGE KB suggests to set Outlook as a default email program.
If this does not work, they suggest to rebuild user's Windows Profile. And most of us know how much pain that is.
So when this happened to my user, all I did is:

1. Uninstalled SalesLogix Client

2. Got the Microsoft Install Clean Up utility to clean up if there's anything left after installation. It also works if SLX 7.1 Client error out during an uninstallation process. Get it here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

3. Went to user's registry and removed SalesLogix key from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

4. Deleted the SalesLogix folder from Program Files

5. Did a clean install of SLX Client

6. Set up Intellisync

Presto! Everything works like a charm. You may want to try this method before rebuilding user's profile.

That seems like a lot of work for an issue solely with Intellisync. I would suggest:

1. Uninstall Intellisync.
2. Delete "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\Intellisync" & "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SLxIntellisync" directories
3. Install latest version of "Intellisync For SalesLogix". For 6.2 it is currently here: http://support.saleslogix.com/download/products/intellisync/v6_2_1_feature_pack_for_intellisync_update.zip
4. Reconfigure Intellisync.

We are on 7.1 and there's no option to uninstall Intellisync only. And the regular Uninstall usually error out as well, so I have to use the MS Installer Clean Up utility

So.. did you go add/remove and attempt to modify the SalesLogix Client install?

It's there where you can remove Intellisync.

Ever since I upgraded the installation package to SP1 it error out when you try to uninstall or modify it. So it's only a full removal and installation again.
