CTRL+F5 not workingYour last visit to this thread was on 1/1/1970 12:00:00 AM

Hi,

The CTRL+F5 refresh functionality has abruptly stopped working. On pressing the keys, neither does it throw any error nor does it respond in any way.
Could someone please help me with this?

Just a few ideas:
Is the keyboard working?
Is it affecting all PCs or just one?
Is the Saleslogix Sales Client itself responding at all?
Can you do View/Refresh All (same as Ctrl-F5)?

Wow, that is weird! I don't know what to suggest.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Could there have been anything else installed that might have registered a system-wide hotkey using CTRL+F5? That's the only thing that comes to mind for me.

We have some Dell keyboards that have a function lock key. That stops the Ctrl+F5. Gave me headache for a while since these were in a remote office to me and I had not seen these keyboards!

Just edit the standard menu and change the hot key.
I regularly add refresh all onto the toolbar as well and those who don't need it ignore it.

Thanks all for the responses.
Will get back and check what David and Lane have said, and repost if the problem persists.

I tried changing the hotkey combination to SHIFT+Z (could have been anything else as well) and it worked fine.
But then, this is just an alternative. If we could still find out why CTRL+F5 is not working...??

Also, this could not have been caused by a Function Lock key that is present on some keyboards, because this happens not for some, but everybody on the network.

Do the other function keys work, Ctrl-F8 and F8 ?
Check the Secure Functions settings in administrator. Does it work for admin?
Has anyone modified the Global Scripts and turned it off ?
Did someone manually set another menu option to Ctrl-F8?
Finally is a system utiliuty (service application) snagging the key stroke?
All are options I'd look at prior to assuming the keyboard is doing anything.

Hi,

The CTRL+F5 has started working for the client at onsite but its still not working for the offshore team.

- Yes, the other function keys, like F8, are working.
- The global scripts have not been modified
- No idea if any system utility is snagging the key stroke.

Plz help......

Have you checked with the people who manage the network? Maybe they sent something out to all workstations that changed the keyboard functionality, rescinded it and it hasn't propagated to the offshore workstations yet.

Sorry All.....

There was some miscommunication... CTRL+F5 is not working even for the onsite team.
They too can just do a View/Refresh All.

Any pointers to what can be done or what is wrong..??

Thanks,
Richa.

Does it work anywhere?

Have you done a fresh install of the client (uninstall, delete registry entries and SalesLogix folders)?

Do this happen on a box where the Architect is installed?

What I am thinking is there is a customization someone did along the way that disabled the CTRL-F5 feature. I don't know where the routine is that does the CTRL-F5. Its possible that got trashed somewhere along the line of creating a customization. It would make sense since this is happening for all clients. Maybe its working, but the routine that is being called isn't working.

Check the menu.
Make sure that the section for shortcut key has the hook for CTRL+F5 in it.
If it's there, then its got to be something external to SalesLogix.

Yes....we checked the shortcut key.
Its there...but if we chnge it to something else, say SHIFT+Z...then it works fine.

Thanks,
Richa
