Continual connection hiccups
Posted: 20 May 08 2:44 PM

I have a number of people that receive the following error message throughout the day, numerous times. It's not all of my people, just a handful.
Error accessing database: The connection cannot be used to perform this operation. It is either closed or invalid in this context. If the problem persists, please contact your administrator.
When this happens, their system freezes and in most cases they have to 'X' out and log back in to get there system to work again.
Would anyone have any ideas on what is going on, and/or suggestions of how I can stop this from happening.
Any help would be much appreciated. |

This sounds very much like an infrastructure issue - not normal fot this to occur. Can you describe your setup. |

Windows Server 2003 environment, most of our people connect thru Citrix (PS4) connections, our database is on a SQL2005 cluster (64bit system). Our Logix connector, however, is sitting on a 32bit Windows 2003 Server (Standard)...with nothing else (such as SQL Server) running on the box.
Not sure if you were looking for more info than this...but it sounds like you've haven't heard of this being a Logix config issue or anything such as that. |
