Howdy all, I have a customer running SLX ver7 sp1 on a six machine terminal server cluster. They have a mixture of SLX and non-SLX users. Since the SLXSystem.exe is running as a service and according to SAGE support is mandatory on a terminal server, when starting outlook every user SLX or not is prompted to login to SLX. Is there a method for the non-SLX users not to be prompted.

In the olden days, you could remove the add-ins from outlook, it appears on version 7.0 sp1 that is not possible.

thanks much in advance

This prompt is coming from Outlook not SalesLogix. It sounds like the Intellisync components and/or SLX Intergration have been added to the Outlook configruation of these users.

If you remove these components the prompting should disappear.

Frank,
Thanks for your assistance. But how can I remove the integraton? In older version of SLX you could get go into the addins in Outlook but in version 7.0, I do not see the the addins in outlook.

These are users that do not have a SLX user account so I do not think it is intellisync.

thanks again

Unregister SLXAB32.DLL

This will cause all users to lose the ability to use SalesLogix as an address book in Outlook, but few people actually miss that.

I need to do the same for a few users. To be completely clear I would run the following to unregister the SLXAB32.DLL:

c:\>regsvr32 /u SLXAB32.DLL

In the future, if I wanted the SLX add-in in Outlook to sync/connect would I register the SLXAB32.DLL? If so, how? If not, how?

Thanks all!

You got it...

When the DLL is registered it gives Outlook access to SalesLogix as an address book.
When/if you want the feature, register that DLL.

Note: This does NOT impact SENDSLX.
That is handled by the other one SLMN.DLL

To register the DLL, just run that same command you used without the /u

Thanks much but it if I un-register the the DLL, am I wrong that it will affect all the users on a terminal server? I only want to remove the SLX login prompt from a select set of users.

thanks in advance
