All,

I am having issues with configuring the Saleslogix client. I am recieving the error "Unable to initialize data dictionary". I have performed this install on another pc and it worked fine.

The environment is Windows XP SP3 Office 2003 with MS SQL Native Client installed . The server is runing Windows 2003 with SQL Server 2005.

I have also followed the instructions as per this post unable to initialize data dictionary http://www.slxdeveloper.com/forum.aspx?forumid=3003&postid=5035 however it sill presents the same issue.

When I try to connect at the login screen i get this error "Database login failed: SQL Network Interfaces: Error locating server/Instance specified [xFFFFFFFF]. This error is strange as i assumed the application does not talk directly to the database server ?

Any ideas or anything else i could try ?

Figured it out. Needed to add a alias via cliconfg to help the computer along

hi peter... i have the exact same problem, my question is how did you add the alias? and did you do this on the slx server machine or on the slx network client machine?
