Remote Office
Posted: 07 Apr 08 5:32 AM
Hi All,
I have a couple of queries regarding remote office
1. I have a current remote user who wishes to move over to the Remote office. Do I have to change him back to a network user before I can change him over to the remote office?
2. The network users that were using TS to access SLX and have now moved over to the remote office are now unable to see any of the groups that they created. Is there any reason why their old groups from LIVE have not been transfered over to the remote office?
I dont think the users are going to be very happy with me if they have to re-create all their groups again! Am I missing something??
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Natalie,
1. I would, while you can change the connection manager on the remote client to make it match the Remote Office it really isn't the supported way. Change the user to a network user and then on the sync tab, point him/her to that remote office.
2. Same here make sure they are assigned to the remote office in the Admin, then the groups will move to them.

Hey Rich,
Thanks for replying!
1. Great thanks for clearing that up, I thought that would be the best way just thought i'd check first.
2. I have changed the sync location to Remote office in the sync tab but the users are still unable to see their old groups.
I just wanted to make sure that they should definatley be able to see these. If so I will call our software vendor to investigate further!
Cheers
