New remote office doesn't display records
Posted: 12 May 08 7:29 PM
New remote office - Had trouble attaching to SQL server farm. Also had trouble with sysdba user. Got that straightened out (I think) and can connect to the remote office with the network client. When I do, the db says it has 0 accounts, contacts, opps. I don't have rights to query the SQL server directly, but I believe the data is there as the file I moved was over 5 gig. I have a request into the dba to check the tables for data. Also if I manuall add a new account and contact they show up.
Has anyone run into anything like this? I am pretty sure I am going to recut but appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Hi Steve - seems that you have too many areas that *might* be problematic. Can you take a few out of the equation by getting an RDP connection to the remote office server and loading the db in SLX there? Presumably you could also run SQL queries if you could get this level of access.
You could also restore the remote office db somewhere else and use SQL to query it, just to check for existence of data.
Did you have users (and subscription rules) assigned to the remote office at the time the database was cut? That might be a factor.

My money is on users not being assigned to the remote office - that got me several times.

Yep, added some users and the data began to flow.
